Some Highlights so far this year in 2nd Class!

22nd Jan 2026

We have had a busy few months in 2nd class! The boys have settled extremely well to their new school and have been working (and playing!) so hard in Term 1. Here are some of the boys' favourite activities so far this school year.

In October/November, our class theme was Space. We enjoyed reading picture books like 'Moon Mouse' and 'Field Trip to the Moon', learning about (and recreating!) the First Moon Landing and making space inspired art. But the boy's favourite space lesson was without a doubt using our weekly delivery of oreos to recreate the phases of the moon!

The boys have also enjoyed STEM activities this year. Their Christmas challenge was to create a Christmas tree and Santa's sleigh using our classroom materials. Lots of teamwork, problem-solving and creativity led to some very impressive results!

Maths has also been a highlight for 2nd class. The boys are enjoying playing stations games every Friday and using lots of manipulatives. Thank you to all the parents who took part in Maths for fun in December, it was a wonderful experience for all. Pictured is our latest work on patterns. Check out our growing & shrinking patterns!

We are currently busy learning all about chocolate, reading our novel 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'boxercising' every Friday!
